“Sono una strega” is
a photographic project by Annalaura Tamburrini;
she asked for my body and for my words,
and she could.
Photographs: summer 2017, Apulia | Words: perhaps summer 2014, maybe in Utrecht, perhaps Italy.

I am a witch because I love myself shamelessly and I soften the obscene I wear / Let me in. / I am a witch because my weapon is the forgiveness that annihilate the power, / Let me in. /
-
-
I am a witch because you lost the way, and I told you it was fine, / Let me in. / I am a witch because I come from the future, but in my lap there’s every moon’s utero, / Let me in. /
-
-
I am a witch because I court your heart with no break nor shame, / Let me in. / I am a witch because I transfix the mistake and I kiss its sense, / Let me in. /
-
-
I am a witch because so it’s decided and I don’t walk away, / Let me in. / I am a witch because I poured my milk elsewhere, but now I know, / Let me in. / I am a witch because I love you all mercilessly, / Let me in. /
-
-
I am a witch because I go where I must not go, / Let me in. / I am a witch because I listen to you when you don’t hear, / Let me in. /

I am a witch because I am proud of my fear, / Let me in. / I am a witch because my love can scare, / Let me in. I am a witch because I dare opening the door and contemplate, / Let me in. //
Immense thankfulness to Annalaura, for having tapped into this roaring part of me,
and for making me experience this profound shift, where I feel naked no more.
